The most beautiful area that I have been to so far in coastal California is Palos Verdes. We had heard from my husband’s co-workers that we needed to go to Nelson’s Restaurant located in the Terranea resort for dinner. Sounded like a good idea to us! The drive down was nice and easy. We stopped at a beautiful scenic overlook and got these photos.Little white dots are boatsThe stuff that “ahhhhs” are made ofTim enjoying the beautiful sceneryMeMe againWe parked at the resort and unloaded my backpack with camera gear inside and started off on the beautiful walking trail that runs around the resort. We ended up here.
Wow!There were a couple of ladies sitting on top of the rocks when we got there. Did we want to go up there? Oh, absolutely! So we waited until they tired of the view (as if) and made our way up to take their spot.It took a bit of time and effort to get me on top of those rocks as I had decided to wear flip flops that day. In my defense, I had no idea we’d be doing some rock climbing! Tim decides he is going to climb on the side of the rock formation to inspect the rocks inside the cove. Sheesh. To take my mind off what might happen if his foot slipped, I decided to take some photos You can tell that he made it safe and sound (and happy) – he loves climbing around on rocks. (More of that when we went to Calico Ghost Town – another post….)After all that climbing around and fresh ocean air we trekked on to Nelson’s for dinner. I had fish and chips, which was great – the filets were over an inch thick! We wanted to sit outside for the view but it was super windy, so we opted to sit behind the glass (plexiglass?) partitions that allowed a view but kept the wind down somewhat. I waited until dinner was over before taking photos of our view – we walked a little way past the restaurant onto another scenic outlook area and admired the view of the lighthouse before heading back to the vehicle and ending our day.33.744461-118.387017
